"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."
(Albert Camus)
The days are now noticeably shorter and even warm days hold hints of the cold that waits in the wings. But on sunny days the light remains warm and brilliant...bliss in which to capture the last hurrahs and gatherings of the annual harvest.
October 31st: Evening's fire burning softly.
October 28th: The rain continues to fall and the temperature continues to drop, but there was still a wee bit of sweetly defiant magic to be found in the gardens this morning.

And I decided to also post there an alteration with the fallen impatien petals cloned out of the background.
October 27th: This is rather a self-portrait today, what with the kind of day I'm having.
October 25th: The light was so beautiful this morning that when I spotted this view of red against red, the rose got another chance.
But regrettably, I have failed it. How in the world do you keep reds from overblowing?
October 24th: "Let the memory live again...."
The only sunlight today was early, brief, thin and cold, and bright enough to create the memory of summer's leaves for the few remaining blossoms on the climbing rose.
The runner-up for today, and a moodier capture, start here:

October 23rd: Late this afternoon, after the lawn service had finished cutting and blowing my yard, I took out a bag of trash and spotted this lone leaf laying in smarmy defiance on the back doormat.
October 22nd: Mister Roger's neighborhood....
