It's high time I learned how to use my digital SLR and this is a fun way to do it!
August 31st: A glimpse of the former Kresge Gardens at Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills. This splendid 2-acre parcel is currently up for sale for $1,850,000. Yes, nearly two million dollars for a building site. Personally, I would much prefer it remain open land, for it is bounded on three sides by a running stream that features 2 bridges, 4 waterfalls, a pond, and an artesian well. Instead, a permit has been issued for a 9,360 square foot footprint house. A 9,360 square foot single family residence.
Sad. Very, very sad.
August 30th: A bud on a Rose of Sharon bush in the early morning light.
August 29th: One of the 'hood residents wonders why I'm also outside, talking on the phone and taking pictures instead of just putting out some nuts and leaving.
August 28th: It's been a dark and dreary work day, and raining steadily since noon so I must resort to shooting my beloved familiar, Sunny. Yes, she's a ham and deliberately makes faces at my camera.
August 27th: This little cutie was one of a group of three ferrets up for adoption at the first annual Pet Expo in Ferndale, Michigan this weekend.
August 26th: Golden Grace looking for her bedtime snack as the last light begins to fade.
August 25th: A splendid clump of oak leaves on a tree in a park.
August 24th: My clematis in bloom.
August 23rd: Brett, come looking for an evening handout.
August 22nd: One of the hostas at my mother's house; older than me and currently in full bloom. Here I caught it after a brief rain shower and hadn't even realized I'd captured this background-magnifying raindrop until post-processing.
